New Silver Life Master Learned to Play at 60.

I was so pleased to receive your email. I knew I was close to the goal of Silver Life Master and happy to know I had achieved it. I started taking bridge lessons at the age of 60. I had never played before. My joke was all I knew was that the deck had 52 cards. My teacher was Roz Powell at Essex Bridge Center, a place where a true novice could learn to play bridge. Before COVID, I played 2–3 times a week. It took a while for me to get regular partners, but I accomplished that and made new friends. Unfortunately, COVID ended that bridge life. I now play on BBO 3–4 times a week with regular partners. There is an in person game nearby, but because of health reasons, I continue to play online. Since I am now 83 years old, I don't have a next goal. I hope to continue to play online and just enjoy the opportunity to play. Of course, I want to play my best game. I am very grateful for the role that the game of bridge has played in my life.
